# PlayNow alternatives: what's legal, and where

> If you're in British Columbia, Manitoba or Saskatchewan, there is no legal alternative to PlayNow online: it's the only online casino those provinces run or license. When you're physically in Ontario or Alberta, though, you can open an account with one of their regulated casinos, which pay faster and offer more games.

- Better apps and 24/7 help: FanDuel's casino app is rated 4.7 on iOS, and bet365 and OLG have 24/7 live chat; PlayNow's slots app is rated about 2 and its support isn't 24/7.

## Frequently asked questions

No. PlayNow is the only legal online casino in British Columbia; BC's regulator says PlayNow holds the province's sole licence. Offshore sites that accept British Columbians aren't licensed by the province.

### Can I use an Ontario casino if I live in BC?

Only while you're physically in Ontario, and only if the casino lets you register; Ontario's regulated sites check your location every time you play. The same goes for Alberta's sites.
