# Kalshi vs Crypto.com's OG

> Kalshi is the better choice for most traders: it handled about $53 billion of volume in September 2026, while OG publishes no reliable volume figures, and Kalshi lists more markets, lets most maker orders trade free and pays a 3.25% variable APY on balances of $250 or more. Choose OG, Crypto.com's prediction-market app, if you want to fund with PayPal, Venmo, a debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay without an OG deposit fee, or start with as little as $1 by ACH. As of September 30, 2026, takers pay the same fee formula on both, up to 1.75¢ per contract.

## Kalshi vs Crypto.com's OG: the key differences

[Kalshi](https://safebet.ai/us/prediction-markets/kalshi-review/) and [OG](https://safebet.ai/us/prediction-markets/crypto-com-review/), Crypto.com's prediction-market app, both run on CFTC-regulated exchanges with their own clearinghouses, and both let you trade sports, politics, crypto and financial contracts from age 18. Kalshi ranks #1 and OG #3 in [our ranking of the best US prediction markets](https://safebet.ai/us/prediction-markets/).

OG's branding takes some untangling. Its contracts are listed and cleared by North American Derivatives Exchange, Inc. (NADEX), a Crypto.com affiliate that does business as OG.com and as Crypto.com | Derivatives North America (CDNA). OG launched as a standalone app and website on February 3, 2026, and you log in with your Crypto.com account. The exchange itself began as HedgeStreet in 2004 and, according to the Third Circuit, started offering sports contracts in December 2024, a month before Kalshi.

As of September 30, 2026:

- **Volume:** Kalshi handled about $53 billion in September 2026 through the 29th, according to The Block. OG publishes no reliable volume figures.
- **Fees:** takers pay the same formula on both, up to 1.75¢ per contract. Most Kalshi maker orders are free, while OG makers pay a fee.
- **Deposits:** OG charges no deposit fee on PayPal, Venmo, debit cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay and accepts $1 by ACH. Kalshi's minimum is $10, and its card and wallet deposits can carry fees.
- **Interest:** Kalshi pays a 3.25% variable APY on cash and open positions for balances of $250 or more. OG lists none.
- **State limits:** court orders block Kalshi's sports contracts in Nevada, Michigan and Washington. OG says it's available in all states, but some contracts, including sports combos, aren't available everywhere, and it publishes no state list.

Both are fighting states over sports contracts. The Ninth Circuit ruled against both in their Nevada cases on August 28, 2026, and Crypto.com's exchange has asked the Supreme Court to review its loss (No. 26-344); Kalshi also lost at the Sixth Circuit over Ohio and Tennessee. Our guide to [whether prediction markets are legal](https://safebet.ai/us/prediction-markets/are-prediction-markets-legal/) tracks the cases.

## Fees

Takers pay the same on both platforms; makers don't. Kalshi and OG both charge takers 0.07 × contracts × price × (1 − price), which peaks at 1.75¢ per contract at a 50¢ price. On Kalshi, maker fees apply only to series it flags, so most resting limit orders pay nothing. On OG, makers pay 0.0175 × the same formula on every trade, opening or closing.

| Fees on 100 contracts at | Kalshi taker | OG taker | Kalshi maker (most markets) | OG maker |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20¢ | $1.12 | $1.12 | $0 | $0.28 |
| 50¢ | $1.75 | $1.75 | $0 | $0.44 |
| 90¢ | $0.63 | $0.63 | $0 | $0.16 |

OG publishes no worked examples, so its figures are our calculations from its formula. If you post a limit order for 100 contracts at 50¢ and it fills, you pay $50.00 on most Kalshi markets and $50.44 on OG.

Two exceptions are worth knowing. OG charges a flat $0.02 per contract to open or close crypto, FX, commodity and equity-index contracts, with settlement fees waived. On Kalshi, a few markets, such as certain elections and award shows, carry non-standard fees.

Funding costs run the other way. OG charges nothing for ACH, wire, card, PayPal or Venmo deposits, though your card issuer may. Kalshi's bank deposits are free, but debit card deposits may carry a 2% fee, and PayPal and Venmo deposits after the first carry a fee. Our [prediction market fees guide](https://safebet.ai/us/prediction-markets/prediction-market-fees/) compares all five platforms we rank.

## Liquidity

Kalshi's liquidity is both deeper and easier to check. Its roughly $53 billion of September volume is the largest in the US, and combos alone made up about 62% of it in the week of September 14–20, 2026, according to DeFi Rate data.

No reliable volume figures are published for OG or its exchange, so its liquidity is hard to judge. Polymarket overtook Crypto.com as the second-largest US platform by volume in March 2026, according to Yogonet. The same exchange has also supplied contracts to FanDuel Predicts, DraftKings Predictions, Fanatics Markets and, since September 8, 2026, Robinhood, a deal Crypto.com calls OG's largest B2B partnership by transaction volume.

## Deposits and withdrawals

OG is the better platform for getting money in, and Kalshi for getting it out quickly; both score 9.5 for deposits and withdrawals.

| | Kalshi | OG |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum deposit | $10 ($1,000 by wire) | $1 by ACH; $10 by card, PayPal or Venmo; $1,000 by wire |
| PayPal and Venmo deposits | First deposit free, then a fee | No OG fee |
| Debit card deposits | May carry a 2% fee | No OG fee; US Visa or Mastercard debit only |
| Fast withdrawals | Debit card, usually within a few hours, or crypto, about 30 minutes; both free | RTP, within minutes, 1.5% fee |
| Other withdrawals | Bank (a few business days) and PayPal, both free | ACH, free |

Kalshi also accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App (deposits only) and crypto, while OG accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay and crypto converted to cash through Mesh. OG's help center lists withdrawals only by ACH and RTP, plus debit card for New York users, and it doesn't publish deposit processing times.

## Which should you choose?

Choose Kalshi if you want the deepest, most measurable liquidity and the widest range of markets, if you post limit orders and want them to trade free on most markets, or if you want interest on your balance and fast, free debit card withdrawals.

Choose OG if you want to fund with PayPal, Venmo, a debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay without an OG deposit fee, if you're starting small with a $1 ACH deposit, if you already have a Crypto.com account, or if you like sports combos of up to 8 legs, including some live and same-game combos, where your state allows them.

Using both can work: OG is a cheap way to fund small trades, and Kalshi gives you deeper order books when you need them, though each needs its own sign-up and identity check. Kalshi offers a trading break, self-exclusion and a monthly funding cap; for other ways to stay in control, see our [responsible gambling guide](https://safebet.ai/responsible-gambling/).

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Kalshi or Crypto.com better for prediction markets?

For most people, Kalshi: it's the largest US prediction market by volume, it has more markets, most maker orders are free, and it pays a 3.25% variable APY on balances of $250 or more. OG, Crypto.com's prediction-market app, is the better pick if you want fee-free PayPal, Venmo or card deposits or a $1 minimum by ACH.

### What is OG, and is it the same as Crypto.com?

OG is Crypto.com's prediction-market app and website, launched on February 3, 2026. Its contracts are listed on North American Derivatives Exchange, Inc. (NADEX), a CFTC-regulated Crypto.com affiliate, and you sign in with your Crypto.com account; Crypto.com has since spun OG out as an independent company.

### Do Kalshi and OG charge the same fees?

Takers pay the same: 0.07 × contracts × price × (1 − price), up to 1.75¢ per contract at a 50¢ price. Makers don't: most Kalshi maker orders are free, while OG makers pay 0.0175 × the same formula, and OG charges a flat $0.02 per contract on crypto, FX, commodity and index contracts.

### Can I use PayPal on Kalshi and OG?

Yes, both accept PayPal and Venmo deposits. OG charges no deposit fee on either, from a $10 minimum, while Kalshi's first PayPal or Venmo deposit is free and later ones carry a fee; Kalshi also lets you withdraw to PayPal for free, while OG doesn't list PayPal or Venmo withdrawals.

### Are Kalshi and OG legal in my state?

Both run CFTC-regulated exchanges, but as of September 30, 2026, court orders block Kalshi's sports contracts in Nevada, Michigan and Washington. OG says it's available in all US states but that some contracts, including sports combos, are unavailable in some, and it doesn't publish a list; our guide to [whether prediction markets are legal](https://safebet.ai/us/prediction-markets/are-prediction-markets-legal/) covers the disputes.

### Does Robinhood use Kalshi or OG?

Both. Robinhood routes orders to Kalshi, and since September 8, 2026, it has also sent some football contracts to Crypto.com's exchange, which runs OG. See our [Robinhood review](https://safebet.ai/us/prediction-markets/robinhood-review/) for how its fees compare.
