Our verdict: withdrawals within 30 minutes

8.6 /10

PointsBet is the pick for punters who want their money fast. It says most withdrawals reach your bank within 30 minutes, PayID and PayTo deposits land within about a minute, and its chat and phone lines are open 24/7. It covers AFL, NRL and the major sports with same-game multis of 2 to 20 legs, most of which you can cash out, and publishes a $1 million maximum win. Its record is moderate: an ACMA spam penalty of $500,800 in 2025 for marketing messages sent to self-excluded people, and NT fines of about $59,000 since 2023. Its weak points: no live streams that we could find, and an Android app rated 3.3.

What is PointsBet?

PointsBet is an Australian online bookmaker run by PointsBet Australia Pty Limited. It ranks #2 in our ranking of the best betting sites in Australia.

Is PointsBet licensed in Australia?

Yes. PointsBet Australia Pty Limited (ACN 606 814 920) is licensed by the Northern Territory Wagering Commission to take bets electronically, 24 hours a day, and pointsbet.com.au is on the register of licensed interactive gambling providers kept by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).

Its record is moderate. On May 16, 2025, ACMA announced that PointsBet had paid a $500,800 spam penalty and was under enforceable undertakings after sending 508 marketing messages to people who had excluded themselves, in August and September 2023; ACMA found no excluded customers were able to place bets in the period it investigated. The NT commission fined it $22,137 in March 2023 and $13,345 in June 2023 over its dealings with two customers, and in May 2026 fined it $23,936, declared a customer’s bets unlawful and said PointsBet should return $73,691.17. Sports, markets and features

PointsBet’s same-game multis are among the biggest in our ranking: 2 to 20 legs, on most major sports, including AFL, NRL, NBA, NFL, MLB and the English Premier League, and most of them can be cashed out. Its betting rules cover AFL, cricket, NRL and esports, among others, and it offers tote and fixed-odds racing. We found no live streaming in its help centre.

As Australian law requires, in-play bets on sport are taken by phone only: you can tap to call the in-play team from the app or dial 1800 PB LIVE (1800 725 483), a line that’s open 24/7. Our guide to sports betting law in Australia explains the rules.

Odds and limits

PointsBet doesn’t publish its margins, and we don’t collect odds. Our margin calculator shows what any market costs you. Its terms publish its limits: a maximum win of $1,000,000 per bet, and a minimum stake of $1 online or $10 by phone.

Deposits and withdrawals

You can deposit from $5 by debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayID or PayTo; PayID and PayTo deposits are credited within about a minute. Credit cards aren’t accepted, as Australian law requires, and we found no PayPal or BPAY. PointsBet doesn’t charge debit card fees.

Withdrawals start at $5, and PointsBet says that in most cases the money reaches your bank account within 30 minutes, though some take up to 24 hours; fast withdrawals need a bank that supports fast payments. If your account is inactive for more than 18 months, PointsBet charges $10 a month.

App and experience

The PointsBet - Online Betting app is rated 4.56 out of 5 from 14,650 ratings on the Australian App Store, but only 3.3 from 2,358 ratings on Google Play, with more than 100,000 downloads (October 23, 2026).

Safety, responsible gambling and support

You can set deposit limits and spend limits over 1, 7, 14 or 30 days; raising or removing a deposit limit takes a 7-day cooling-off period. You can take a break of 1 to 30 days or exclude yourself, which can’t be undone, and its help centre explains how to register with BetStop, the national self-exclusion register. Monthly activity statements can be downloaded from your account, and your identity is checked when you sign up.

Support is available 24/7 by live chat and phone (13 72 38), and emails are answered within 12 hours. Free, confidential help: the National Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858, 24/7, and our guide to gambling help in Australia.

Who is PointsBet best for?

  • Punters who want their winnings fast, usually within 30 minutes.
  • Same-game multi fans, with up to 20 legs.
  • Not for punters who want live streams or to pay by PayPal.

Our verdict

PointsBet pairs withdrawals that usually arrive within 30 minutes with big same-game multis, a published $1 million maximum win and support at any hour. Its ACMA penalty and the lack of streams keep it behind bet365. Compare it in our Australian ranking, or see the best PointsBet alternatives.
