What is 888casino?

888casino is the online casino brand of evoke plc, formerly 888 Holdings, which also owns William Hill. In Spain it runs at 888casino.es under licenses from Spain’s gambling regulator, the Directorate General for the Regulation of Gambling (Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego, DGOJ), and it’s #2 in our ranking of the best online casinos in Spain.

888’s Spanish casino is run by 888 Online Games España SA, a company registered in Ceuta that was called 888 Spain PLC until 2020; one account covers 888’s casino, poker and sports sites. evoke says Spain brought in £99.4 million in 2025, 6% of its revenue, and that it lost market share there that year.

The evoke takeover

evoke’s shareholders approved a recommended all-share takeover by Athens-listed Bally’s Intralot on August 17, 2026, and the deal is expected to take effect in the fourth quarter of 2026 or the first quarter of 2027, subject to court approval and other conditions. In its 2025 accounts and first-half 2026 results, evoke’s directors identified two “material uncertainties” related to going concern: refinancing debt due in July 2028 if the deal doesn’t complete, and visibility over the buyer’s “ability and intentions to operate the Group” if it does. It hasn’t announced any sale or closure of 888’s Spanish business, and as of October 1, 2026, the DGOJ register showed no change-of-shareholder decision for the licensee.

Is 888casino legal in Spain?

Yes. 888 Online Games España SA holds the DGOJ’s “Otros juegos” (other games) and betting general licenses, plus singular licenses for roulette, blackjack, slots, poker and fixed-odds betting, on four .es domains, including 888casino.es. DGOJ sanctions record

As of October 1, 2026, the DGOJ lists five resolutions against 888 Online Games España since 2021, all classed as serious (grave), none as very serious. The largest concerned how it checked the RGIAJ (Registro General de Interdicciones de Acceso al Juego), Spain’s national self-exclusion register:

That’s €675,000 in fines, €405,000 after reductions for voluntary payment. The iSoftBet issue led to fines for several other licensees, and larger operators have more players and more exposure, but the record is still much heavier than that of bet365 Casino: a written warning and one €10,000 fine since 2021.

888casino has one of the largest slot catalogues in our top five, though its own figures differ: the lobby listed 2,213 games on October 1, 2026, 2,168 of them slots, while its RTP page covers about 3,085 slots over 12 months, which may include withdrawn titles. Either way, that’s 2,000+ slots.

• Slots: mainly from Games Global, Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, Playtech and MGA, plus Spanish studios R. Franco and CIRSA, 888-branded titles such as 888 Megaways, and Daily 4 Jackpot slots.
• Live casino: nine live roulette tables from Evolution and Playtech, with stakes from €0.10 to €2,700. The live lobby shows only roulette, which fits Spain’s rules: the blackjack rules have no live variant.
• Table games: RNG roulette and blackjack, video poker and crash games.

For each slot, the RTP page gives the theoretical RTP and the actual return over 12 months and for each of the last six months. By our count, theoretical RTPs run from 90.00% to 97.89%, with a median of 94.48%.

888casino bonus and promotions

At the time of writing (October 2026), 888casino’s welcome offer has two parts:

• 88 bonus spins on sign-up: for players who have never had an 888.es account, with no deposit needed. Claim them within 4 days and use them within 3 days of crediting, on selected slots. Winnings are paid as bonus funds, capped at €100, and must be wagered 20 times within 90 days.
• 100% first-deposit match up to €150 with code CAS150: minimum deposit €10, not by Skrill or Neteller. The match is paid as bonus funds that must be wagered 20 times within 90 days, on casino games only; 888 says its winnings aren’t capped.

Slots count 100% toward wagering; roulette, blackjack and video poker count 10%. The welcome terms don’t state a maximum bet.

Worked example. A €150 deposit with code CAS150 gets a €150 bonus, so you’d need to wager €3,000 within 90 days. At the 94.48% median theoretical RTP on 888’s RTP page, the expected cost of that play is about €166, slightly more than the bonus. Every game has a house edge, so a bonus won’t make you money on average.

888’s general bonus policy still says bonuses are only for accounts at least 30 days old and verified with documents, a rule from Royal Decree 958/2020 on gambling advertising that the Supreme Court annulled in 2024. It sits awkwardly with offers for new players, so ask 888 how it applies before you rely on the welcome offer. 888’s loyalty program, El Club 888.es, starts after your first real-money bet; challenges earn points, and levels unlock gold chips you can exchange for bonuses, cash and prizes.

Deposits and withdrawals

888casino takes Bizum (Spain’s instant bank-payment app), PayPal, cards, Apple Pay, Skrill, Neteller and paysafecard for deposits, all from €10. It charges no withdrawal fees, and withdrawals go first to the methods you deposited with.

888 says it processes withdrawals within one business day. After that, its payout table lists same-day payment for PayPal and Skrill, up to three business days for cards and Neteller, and two to five for bank transfers, but a 2024 help-center article gives longer totals: two to three business days for e-wallets, up to six for cards and five to eight for bank transfers. The sources differ, so plan for the longer times.

App and experience

888casino’s iOS app was rated 4.52 out of 5 from 8,161 ratings on Apple’s Spanish App Store as of October 1, 2026, more Spanish ratings than any other casino-only app in our research. Its Android app was rated 4.2 from 6,413 ratings on Google Play (which may include users outside Spain), although one of 888’s pages still tells Android users to play in the browser.

The site, terms and help center are in Spanish, but 888’s pages disagree on several details, including Mastercard withdrawals and how fast deposit-limit increases apply.

Safety and customer support

888casino is licensed and supervised by the DGOJ. Its “Juego más seguro” (safer gambling) page, which every licensed Spanish site must link from its home page, offers deposit limits; self-exclusion from one day to three months, or an indefinite option of at least six months; and time and loss limits before each slots session. Complaints go to [email protected] within three months; 888 aims to resolve them within 30 days, and if it doesn’t, you can complain to the DGOJ.
