That doesn’t make it a scam, but in Canada the answer is usually simple: as of October 22, 2026, only two dealers may offer event contracts to Canadians, Interactive Brokers Canada and Wealthsimple. Any other platform offering you real-money prediction markets isn’t authorized to.
Know a platform we should add? Tell us and we’ll check it.
In Canada, event contracts are derivatives, regulated by the provincial securities commissions and the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO). The check sorts every platform into one of these groups, based on whether it may legally deal with Canadians.
Every platform the tool knows, with the company behind it and its status for Canadians as of October 22, 2026. The two in our ranking link to their full reviews.

If something goes wrong with a registered dealer, complain to the dealer first, then to CIRO; unresolved disputes can go to the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments (OBSI). With an unregistered site there is nobody in Canada to escalate to. Our guide to whether prediction markets are safe in Canada goes through the red flags.
Only two dealers may offer event contracts to Canadians as of October 22, 2026: Interactive Brokers Canada and Wealthsimple (Wealthsimple Predict). Both are regulated by CIRO and limited to economic, financial and climate contracts. See our ranking.
No. Polymarket isn’t registered with any Canadian regulator, it’s barred from Ontario under a 2025 OSC settlement, and it blocks Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec. In the other provinces the site loads but is still unregistered. See is Polymarket legal in Canada?
Not on Kalshi itself: its member agreement lists Canada as a restricted jurisdiction. Some of its economic, financial and climate contracts are available through Wealthsimple Predict and Interactive Brokers. See is Kalshi available in Canada?
Find the company behind it in the footer or terms, search it in the CSA’s “Are they registered?” tool and CIRO’s dealer directory, and look it up in the CSA’s investor alerts. If it isn’t registered, it can’t legally offer you event contracts.
The tool gives you the manual checklist. In practice the answer is usually simple: only two dealers may offer event contracts in Canada, so any other platform offering you real-money prediction markets isn’t authorized to. You can also tell us about it.
We verify facts against primary sources (regulators, court records, operators’ own terms) wherever possible.
