What is bet365?

bet365 is one of the world’s biggest online bookmakers, run in the Netherlands by Hillside (New Media Malta) PLC of Ta’ Xbiex, Malta, under a Dutch licence that also covers its casino, poker and bingo apps. It ranks #5 in our ranking of the best betting sites in the Netherlands.

A note on our sources: bet365’s Dutch website and help centre blocked our automated checks, so this review relies on the Kansspelautoriteit’s records and bet365’s own app listings, which we attribute as such.

Is bet365 licensed in the Netherlands?

Yes. Hillside (New Media Malta) PLC holds Ksa licence 3598 for online casino games, poker, horse-race betting and sports betting, valid from October 1, 2026 to October 1, 2031: it was among the first eight operators whose licence the Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) renewed, on September 17, 2026. bet365.nl is the website the Ksa lists; bet365.com isn’t covered by the Dutch licence.

Its record weighs on its score. The Ksa fined it €400,000 for advertising aimed at young adults; a court ruled on the case on September 16, 2025, and bet365 has appealed to the Council of State. On November 13, 2025 the Ksa gave it a binding instruction for not responding adequately to signs that players might no longer be able to bear the financial consequences of their gambling, the heart of an operator’s duty of care; the Ksa rejected bet365’s objection on August 4, 2026, and bet365 can still go to court. In February 2026 the Ksa also called it out for offering a match for players under 21 in 2025, a one-off registration error bet365 has fixed. Check any site with our Dutch licence check.

Sports, markets and features

According to its Dutch app listing, bet365 offers live and pre-match betting on a wide range of sports, including the Eredivisie, the Champions League, Formula 1, the NFL and the NBA, with tens of thousands of live markets, Bet Builder+ before and during matches, and livestreams of hundreds of thousands of events a year worldwide. Its Google Play listing adds cash out and partial cash out, before and during games. We couldn’t check any of this on its website. As at every licensed Dutch sportsbook, there are no bets on matches between players under 21, on amateur and youth competitions or on events such as cards and corners: see sports betting law in the Netherlands.

Odds and limits

We couldn’t check bet365’s maximum payouts or minimum stake: its betting rules are on the website that blocked our checks. Like the other bookmakers, it doesn’t publish its margins, and we don’t collect odds; our margin calculator shows what any market costs you.

Deposits and withdrawals

Its app listing says you can pay by debit card, iDEAL and PayPal, among other methods. We couldn’t check minimum deposits, withdrawal times or fees, so check them in the app before your first deposit.

App and experience

bet365’s sportsbook app, bet365 – Wedden op sport, is rated 4.70 out of 5 from 12,254 ratings on the Dutch App Store and 4.6 from about 2,000 reviews on Google Play, with more than 50,000 downloads (October 23, 2026): the best combination of rating and reach among the sportsbooks in our ranking. bet365 also has separate casino, poker and bingo apps.

Safety, responsible gambling and support

Its app listing names time-outs, deposit limits, activity alerts and self-exclusion, and like every licensed Dutch operator, bet365 must check Cruks, the national exclusion register, and make you set limits before you play. Given the Ksa’s binding instruction, set your own limits low. We couldn’t check its support channels or hours. Our verdict
