Yes, but only with companies licensed by the Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa), and only for adults 18 and over. Since the Wet kansspelen op afstand took effect in 2021, the Ksa licenses online casino games, poker and sports and horse-race betting: 31 companies held an online licence on October 23, 2026. Every licensed site must check Cruks, the national exclusion register, before you play. Sites without a Dutch licence are illegal, whatever licence they claim elsewhere, and the Ksa fines them: on October 22, 2026 it published a €37.25 million fine on the company behind Skyhills and Instantcasino. Prediction markets such as Polymarket aren’t licensed either.

Where things stand in the Netherlands
- Online casino games, poker and sports betting are legal only at the 31 companies the Ksa has licensed, and only on the websites it lists for them. Check whether a site is legal.
- Licensed sites must check Cruks before you play, and must run an affordability check before letting you deposit more than €300 a month if you’re 18 to 23, or €700 if you’re 24 or older. The rules for online casinos.

- Licensed sportsbooks may not take bets on matches between players under 21, on amateur and youth competitions, or on events such as yellow cards and corners. The rules for sports betting.
- Prediction markets aren’t licensed: the Ksa ordered Polymarket to stop offering bets to Dutch players, and published in July 2026 that it had forfeited €420,000 in penalty payments. Prediction markets in the Netherlands.
- You pay no tax on winnings from a licensed site; the operator pays 37.8% gambling tax on its gross gaming result. Win at a site without a Dutch licence, though, and you must declare it yourself. Gambling taxes.
