What is ODDSET?

ODDSET is a German sports betting brand that, in its own words, has stood for safe betting in Germany since 1999. Today it’s run by ODDSET Sportwetten GmbH in Munich, online and in retail. It ranks #4 in our ranking of the best betting sites in Germany.

Is ODDSET legal in Germany?

Yes. ODDSET Sportwetten GmbH has held a GGL licence for sports betting since November 18, 2020, and its current licence, granted by the Regierungspräsidium Darmstadt on December 15, 2022, covers betting online and in retail. oddset.de is on the GGL’s whitelist. We found no public warning against it on the GGL’s site as of October 22, 2026. Check any site with our German licence check.

The betting tax: 5% of the payout

This is ODDSET’s weak point. For customers in Germany, its terms (section D.II) charge a fee of 5% of the gross payout, stake multiplied by odds, on every winning bet; the fee and your net winnings are shown on the bet slip. Losing bets cost nothing extra, but a winning €100 bet at odds of 2.00 pays back €190, where a book that pays the tax itself would pay €200 and one that deducts it from winning bets €194.70. Sports, markets and features

ODDSET covers football from the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, 3. Liga and DFB-Pokal to the Champions League, Europa League, Premier League, Serie A, LaLiga and major tournaments, and many other sports. You can place single, combination and system bets, bet live within Germany’s limits, cash out singles and combinations (not guaranteed on every event), and build your own bet with the “Konfigurator” on selected sports, with at least two selections from one match; bet builder bets can’t be cashed out or edited. ODDSET doesn’t publish a fixed maximum win.

Deposits and withdrawals

Deposits start at €5 with every method: PayPal, Tink online transfer, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and paysafecard. Withdrawals start at €10 and carry no fees. ODDSET’s finance team reviews every withdrawal within up to 48 hours; after that, its help pages give two different sets of times: e-wallets within 28 or 8 hours, cards within 5 business days or 2 to 4, and bank transfers within 5 or 3 to 5 business days. Winnings above €15,000 are usually paid by bank transfer, to a method you’ve deposited with.

ODDSET’s app is rated 4.61 out of 5 from 3,797 ratings on Germany’s App Store and 4.49 from 1,227 on Google Play (October 22, 2026), with push notifications for your bets.

ODDSET’s monthly deposit limit is €1,000 by default, raised only after an affordability check. You can add daily, weekly and monthly deposit, stake and loss limits (raising one takes 7 days), get reality checks, lock yourself out for 24 hours with one tap, or exclude yourself for at least three months.
